Job Description

Account Managers lead the charge during simplistic’s entire value process: Vendor Onboarding ⇢ Presale Execution ⇢ Sale Management ⇢ Post Sale Analysis.  Account Managers are responsible to many of simplistic’s stakeholders (technical team, vendors, promotors, etc.) and are expected to provide white glove, value added service.  Primary responsibilities include managing all communications with vendors, implementing simplistic’s processes, anticipating issues important for a successful sale and escalating issues outside of the normal course of business. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Vendor Onboarding: Effectively communicating with vendors, ensuring timely receipt of client information, conduit between client and simplistic’s technical team. 
  • Presale Execution: Attending to every detail of simplistic’s processes and ensuring all proper execution of such.  This is about understanding the details, attention to detail and allowing vendors and promotors to sleep well the night prior to the sale with full confidence the sale will run smoothly. 
  • Sale Management: Account managers live in the flash sale and are accountable for managing the sale with simplistic’s proprietary flash tools as well as collaborate with and advise clients throughout the sale day.
  • Post Sale Analysis: Provide analytics regarding the sale, preparing a post sale report and ensuring all sale related issues are resolved within 24 hours of the sale.   
  • Other: Implement various procedures to ensure that service levels and performance objectives are met.  Other duties as may be assigned to meet the business needs.

Critical Success Factors

Successful Account Management associates have the following attributes/skills.

  • Technology, Design and Retail: Account Managers must have an aptitude for technology including graphic files and ecommerce.  Basically we want someone who has experience shopping online, has an eye for design and likes to mess around with technology. 
  • Multitask: Account Managers are responsible for several projects, in various stages, at the same time.  Associates work with multiple individuals within simplistic, the promotor, the vendor and service providers to simplistic.  You need to be able to juggle some balls, cats and every once in a while razorblades.
  • Organized: Account Managers are expected to be highly organized, responsive and meet deadlines.  Use Sales Force, Excel, Numbers, Keynote, Powerpoint, Word, Pages, BaseCamp, online group calendar, Skype, Monosnap, uberconference, etc.
  • Anticipate: Account Managers are expected to become experts in simplistic’s processes and voice.  Associates must anticipate opportunities and challenges and communicate accordingly to vendors, promotors and their simplistic colleagues.  It’s like watching the scary movie – you need to be the one who is saying – “don’t go in there”.
  • Self-motivated: Simplistic allows for independent time management.  Much of an Account Manager’s time is spent working without direct supervision.  Associates are expected to hold themselves accountable, take initiative, have pride in their work, strive for continuous improvement and provide value add.   Big brother ain’t watching you, we don’t want to have to watch you, the job requires that you watch yourself. 
  • Communication: The ability to communicate (in person, telephone, email, etc.) professionally, promptly and effectively is critical.  Vendors, promotors and simplistic colleagues require insight and information on a daily basis – sometimes hourly, sometimes seconds count. You will be part of vendors’ biggest days of the year.  We treat every vendor as if it is our own product or business.  This is mission critical and must shine through on every email, call and vendor interaction.  
  • Attention to Detail:  It’s all about the details, no kidding.  Enough said. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years E-Commerce customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have experience managing client expectations and delivering to client requirements while understanding internal commercial drivers
  • Ability to take initiative, multitask on concurrent projects, meet tight deadlines and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
